Ideal Home Show Scotland 2025

We’re excited to announce our I Do Handmade Village will be returning to the Ideal Home Show Scotland

Fri 23 May – Mon 26 May 2025

SEC Glasgow

Tell Me More

We will be creating an I Do Handmade Village at The Ideal Home Show, inside Glasgow’s SEC, which will be home to up to 24 handmade brands offering a variety of talent and bespoke gift ideas.

This pop-up will be a flexible opportunity for small businesses, apply for a stall for just one day, or for every day! The aim of this pop-up is to help reduce the price of selling in this environment for small businesses, to see if this show is worth a future investment for your own kiosk.

Each Small Business…

  • Will have their own named stall, selling their own products in a similar fashion to typical markets and fairs
  • Will take payments directly at their stall, from the customer using their own wireless payment readers e.g Sumup (aff. link)
  • Will set up their stall in the morning from 8am before opening to the public, creating a professional looking display (unfortunately there will be no access the night before) and pack up their stall at 5pm
  • Will take home 100% of your takings of whatever you sell

About the stalls

  • We will provide each business with their own wooden stall unit pictured here

  • Each stall will have the business’ name printed and displayed above them

  • The stall measures 1.8m wide, 90cm deep, 2.3m tall

  • You will need a table cloth however we ask that you tuck the edges in so it does not drape down.
  • When behind the stall, each stall has open storage underneath. This storage space will be for all your belongings, stock and personal items on the day (there is no other storage facility) Please ensure everything you bring will fit underneath neatly, and does not post a trip hazard

What products can be sold at The Handmade Village?

Despite it being called the Ideal Home Show, this national show is home to products from across the board. This includes jewellery, food and drink, beauty, stationery. The more unique your products the better. We envisage the village to be a selection of artisan handmade products not easily found on the high street.

If selling food & drink

– You will need full hygiene certificate
– To display all ingredients somewhere on your stall and clearly share any allergens
– All food and drink must be pre-packaged and not open (e.g cakes cannot be all open, must be bagged or boxed ready to give the customer, drinks cannot be served in cups but sealed bottles or cans)
– Zero food prep can be done on site which include selling open drinks
– Samples can be offered
– If your products contain alcohol you will need to apply for a TENS

Why pop-up with us at The Ideal Home Show Scotland?

You can book a stall for 1 day, something not offered at this iconic show to test this sales environment for your business.

Booking your own booth at these renowned national shows can cost businesses anything from £1000 up to £10,000+ to take part. You are usually responsible to fit out your booth with furniture, walls, carpet, electricity, branding, and have to be there 4 days in a row, which can be difficult for business owners with families and other responsibilities.

This concept we are creating is designed to help handmade brands pay less, offer flexibility and the chance to test this sales environment with less financial risk, to know if this is a successful sales environment for your handmade brand.

Be part of the biggest shopping exhibition in Scotland. Born out of Britain’s best loved and trusted home show brand, the Ideal Home Show is an award-winning shopping event.

Any rules about having a stall at The Ideal Home Show?

  • Your business is based in the UK
  • You must sell handmade products, either made by yourself or someone else. Your products must have some element of personalisation done by hand. Items which have been bought from a manufacturer/wholesalers will not be allowed to be sold here. The Handmade Village will be for handmade artisan brands. Not sure you fit the bill? Drop us a message and we can let you know.
  • You’ll need to have minimum £1m public liability insurance valid on the date(s) you book (If you don’t have public liability insurance, Events Insurance or Protectivity offer one-day policies from £30)
  • Due to the extensive work involved, once stall bookings are confirmed, they are non-exchangeable, non-refundable. If you are unable to attend for any reason, and know a brand that can take your space, get in touch and we will do all we can to help. Please note the new brand, will need to sell a product that does not clash with anyone already registered. An admin fee may also apply if we need to re-print signage with their name on.
  • No children can be brought with you or behind the stalls, everyone must be aged 16+, children are of course able to visit you at the event (a show ticket would need to be purchased for them)
  • No music/ lit candles/ burning of incense/ handwritten paper signs or unprofessional signage.
  • Two people max behind each stall at any time, you are welcome to have additional staff rotate throughout the day. We will ask you for a list of all attendees working at your stall in advance of the event.
  • Stalls must be hosted by one brand only, unfortunately two companies cannot share a stall.
  • Unfortunately no floor standing clothing rails or pull up banners can be brought, everything needs to go on top of your stall.
  • Finally, you will need to be set up promptly for spot checks by Ideal Home Show management at the opening hours (10am), and your stall will need to be open until closing at 5pm. You cannot leave earlier than 5pm.

FAQ’s

Can I book more than one day?

Yes you are welcome to book as many days as you would like. Do this by answering the relevant question on the application form. If you are new to selling in this environment book the number of days you feel comfortable with, these events are a big investment so do what is right for your brand. Be aware if you have one unsuccessful day of sales, we do not offer any refunds or exchanges due to the extensive work that has gone into planning this event

If booking more than one day, can I leave stock there over night

If booked in for the next consecutive day, you will be able to leave your display/stock, on/in their stall (this will not be lockable), anything left is left at your own risk. The venue is manned by security through the night and it is common for kiosks to be left with shelves full of stock. We highly recommend you bringing a sheet to go over your stall over night.

What branding/signage can I bring?

You are welcome to bring along any branding/flyers/signage etc as long as it can sit on top of your stall and not on the floor (nothing can be stuck to the sides of your stall) Unfortunately no floor-standing pull up banners can be brought.

Can I bring small pieces of furniture/shelves to display our stock on?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own shelving/decor, everything will need to sit on top of your stall to create a professional looking display. Unfortunately nothing can go on the floor. Feel free to bring fairy lights, greenery or garlands (ensuring everything is securely in place with no risk of falling)

Is there electricity?

There will be limited power available at the village, therefore everything you need, needs to be available wirelessly. We will be providing a USB charger which will have 10 USB holes available (you just need to bring the USB wire for your device if you need to charge a phone/cardreader on the day). Nothing else will be allowed to be plugged in. You are welcome to bring your own source of power, providing it all goes under your stall with no trailing wires, nor creates any noise (i.e no generators)

How many people will be at The Ideal Home Show?

Over 30,000 are expected at Scotlands show. 85% of visitors, come ready to shop, wanting to find unique gift and accessories

Is a table provided?

Yes, a market stall is provided, check out the photo above of what it will look like. We will print your business name to go in the top panel (no cost for this). The only thing you need to bring is your stock and any decor to make your stall stand out. We will be arranging the carpet, lights and electricity.

How much stock will I need?

Tricky one to answer, to play safe, if you get close to running out of stock, maybe come with a mechanism already in place for customers to be able to pay on the day, but offer to post it to them after the event. This will help ensure your stall always looks full, and also help you capture customer data (follow GDPR guidelines) for future sales!

When can I set up my stall?

Arrive in the morning from 8am to set up your stall for that day. The show opens to the public from 10am in London. If you are trading the following day, you are welcome to leave your stall and stock set up overnight. Please bring a cloth to go over your table if this is the case, everything is left at your own risk, however the venue has 24/7 security

What if I need to cancel my booking?

Due to the extensive planning involved, stall bookings are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, and know a brand that can take your space, get in touch and we will do all we can to help. Please note the new brand, will need to sell a product that does not clash with anyone already registered. An admin fee may also apply if we need to re-print signage with their name on

Is the Ideal Home Show a trade show/ B2B event?

The Ideal Home Show is a B2C event, with majority of attendees buying products for themselves or loved ones. It isn’t a trade show, however you never know where visitors work or know, and the opportunities that might come from it.

But I don't sell home related products?

The Ideal Home Show has become a national shopping destination. Despite it’s name, you will find all sort of products there, from jewellery, to beauty, to stationery etc.

Is there a discount for booking more than 1 day?

Yes, a 10% discount can be applied at checkout, if you book 2+ dates which include at least one weekday
