Free bunting for all

To celebrate our 7th birthday we’ve made a beautiful printable for you to make and use at home, either for celebrations, as gifts, or decorations for the home.

All you’ll need: string, a hole punch and some scissors.

Print out this floral bunting by clicking on the link below.

You’ll find the first few pages are the letters ‘happy birthday’. If you would like to create your own personalised message, I’ve designed the whole alphabet, so print out the letters you need for whatever phrase you would like to create.

Print onto paper or thin card, then cut out the flags.

Hole punch or use scissors to make teeny holes in the top corners.

Thread the flags along the string (in the right order) and there you have it.

To add some va va voom, before making holes, you could mount these flags onto different coloured card or paper.

Use the bunting for a wall, along the edge of a table or along a curtain pole. Keep somewhere safe and flat, and reuse again and again!

Credit: I used a stunning photo taken by Georgia de Lotz to create this bunting. Thank you Georgia! 🙂

A rustic wedding in a tipi

If you’re planning a rustic wedding, check out this wedding we decorated.

rustic wedding in a tipi

We recently had the privilege of providing props for a tipi rustic wedding – a first for us… I can happily confirm that tipis are defo a great option for weddings! We worked with the lovely bride, Rebecca, to create a few bespoke pieces especially for her (and the hubby of course)

As you entered the tipi we created a personalised seating plan named ‘Where in the world are you sitting’. All tables were named cities that the bride and groom had been to. Great for a couple who have experienced the travel bug! We loved doing this and will be making this as a special bundle for more brides.

Inside the tipi we hung our fairy lit hessian heart behind the top table, making it obvious where the focus was in the room. Rebecca’s family had crocheted Mr and Mrs bunting which we tied across the front of it.

The bride and groom had a table especially for photos of their parents’ and grandparents’ wedding pictures, we used our scroll frames and jars to decorate here.

Our drinks dispensers and crates came out to play with our personalised drinks labels.

At the end of the evening they had fireworks and sparklers so they purchased our sparkler bundle adding a personalised touch to another table with the chalkboard we designed for them.

When we were there we spotted a few cute looking props the bride and groom organised themselves, my favourite was the old school milk bottles used as centre pieces.

Advent calendar bunting

This super cute make has been welcomed into our collection… Advent calendar bunting! All the other props are glaring at this one in envy! Well if you’re going to count down the days to Christmas why not do it in style 🙂

Each flag has a little pocket to hold a mini sweet which you can enjoy each day leading up to Christmas (only if you can restrain your self not to eat them all at once!)

Christmas Vintage bunting for all

We’ve been cutting and sewing galore over the last few weeks getting a few new festive bespoke props ready to add to our vintage catalogue.

The first one I’d like to welcome is our Vintage Christmas bunting! Wooooo! Image

We’ve sewn three different flags to red (or green) tape – cream floral, red gingham and green polka dot. They’re all double sided, so ideal to hang across the room and can be admired from all directions!

Stay tuned for more ways to spruce up Christmas in your home 🙂ImageImageImageImage

Personalised hessian bunting

We had a busy weekend designing the beginning of our personalised bunting range. I always loved the thought of turning hessian into bunting, it’s such a vintage look.

We’re taking orders for weddings and events, available to purchase or if you’re trying to save pennies why not hire?! Message us for deets!

Little note for all you crafty readers – if you’re making yourself, be careful not to buy the cheapest hessian available (as tempting as it sounds) this tends to fray just by looking at it. Try to choose hessian which has been woven quite tight – it will make it easier to sew.

Love heart garland

Hearty’s doing somersaults right now! Loving our new Love Heart Garland 🙂

We bought a variety of material, cut out heart shapes, sewed around the edge, leaving a 2cm gap at the top and filled with stuffing. Embroidered the gap closed and used parcel string to sew them to thicker parcel string to hang them up. Super simple!

It’s very happy right now in front of the fire place making itself very comfy in its new home! We’ll be making these available to hire, they’re a great equivalent to bunting!

Party time!

All week I have been preparing pretty little bits and bobs for our joint birthday party. Me and my hubby had planned a vintage sports day with a BBQ afterwards. We had games of cricket, skipping races, three legged races, rounders… all taking us back in time to our childhood sports days. We then chilled out and tucked into mouthfuls of yummyness.

I was most excited about the party as it was a chance to whip out some of our vintage props and put them to good use! Our newest addition, is the lemonade stand. I bought two drinks dispensers, one we filled with Pimms and the other homemade Strawberry Fizz… deeeelicious!

Image

The tags I designed on the PC, printed out, stuck onto card and laminated. I then tied them to each jar using the coloured parcel string.

Image

Then to make the drinking experience that little bit more vintage we have old school milk bottles and candy striped straws for our guests to sip from. If I could, these would replace the glasses in my kitchen cupboard! (hubby probably wouldnt be too pleased with that!)

Image

Of course not all the boys wanted to drink out of straw nor a milk bottle…! Can’t see that going down too well! So I brought out the galvanised beer bucket for the guys to grab a beer from.

Image

For snacks before the BBQ, I made little packets of crisps for everyone. I got the idea from the liagriffith.com blog. (Who by the way inspires me allll the time!) I cut up squares of baking paper and folded them to make mini packets.

Image

I downloaded lia’s sticker template, also available free from her blog and printed onto A4 sticker paper and cut out each circle. Et voila fill them with your favourite snacks!

Image

I used little flags to decorate the BBQ’d food which I made earlier in the week. (See previous blog post) and the spread was ready for eating!

Image

Of course we can’t not show off my favourite part of any meal – dessert! To help keep things healthy, I chose a fruit option and stuck lollipop sticks into sliced watermelon – an easy finger food snack without the need for plates, cuttlery etc.

Image

I also couldn’t not go down the classic cupcake and cookie route too! We baked some red velvet cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies and displayed them on our cupcake stands. Pure yummyness!

Image

All in all we both had a great day! The hubby wasnt too bothered with the pretty knifes and forks, nor the amount of bunting that now dominates his lounge! His wife on the other hand was a very happy lady!

Birthday bunting

Today I celebrated the annual event, which I’m sure gets closer together the more you have… My birthday! I was away this weekend with the hubby and came home to find my mum had decorated the house whilst we were gone with beautiful vintage bunting! All handmade of course! All contributing to our new stock for our vintage prop hire business.

What a lovely surprise! My favourite was the delicate white lace…
